For nearly 50 years our shop at 40a West Street, Alresford has dealt and traded in antique jewellery and for the past 20 years it has been my speciality as well. Emerald

Emerald is the green variety of the mineral Beryl and is prized for its rich velvety bluish green colour. Key sources include Colombia, Brazil and Zambia. Emerald is most commonly cut as a rectangle with cut corners called a 'Trap Cut' and it is quite usual to see clearly visible inclusions and internal features.
