About Canonbury Clinic
Report
When you visit an osteopath for the first time a full medical history will be taken and you will be given a physical examination. You will normally be asked to perform a simple series of movements so that the mobility of your body can be evaluated. Any points of postural imbalance, excess strain, weakness or specific injury will be identified.
About Hussein
Report
Having started life as a tailor working in the dusty workshops of Saville Row, Hussein was drawn to osteopathy because of a chronic asthma condition. The transformational effects of the treatments were life changing, and inspired him to train in the profession so he could help others to benefit in the same way.
FAQs
Report
At the first consultation, Hussein will compile a full case history of your symptoms, as well as asking for information about your lifestyle and diet. He may also observe you making some simple movements to help make a diagnosis. You will usually be asked to remove some clothing near the area of the body to be examined so it is best to wear underwear that that you will both be comfortable in and will be able to move around freely in.
Lower Back
Report
Highly sensitive nerves and nerve roots that travel from the lower back down into the legs and feet. An irritation or problem with any of these structures can cause lower back pain and/or pain that radiates or is referred to other parts of the body. Pain from resultant lower back muscle spasms can be severe, and pain from a number of syndromes can become chronic.
Knee
Report
To some extent the design of the knee joint predisposes it to injury if not correctly aligned. The two longest bones in the body sit on top of each other and are held together by two ligaments inside, two ligaments outside and a series of muscular tendons around it. Add to that the fact that the knee joint is primarily weight bearing and in essence moves only in one plane, and it's no wonder that knee injuries arise.
