Just had a truly lovely Christmas lunch at The George Hotel. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere just right and the team really attentive. Thanks for making our Christmas day really special.

Second stay in two weeks...this must say something. In winter months the fire stets the scene in the bar for relaxing with family and friends.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff helpful and the restaurant delivers
Will we be back? I would be very surprised if we are not

Mostly our stay was nice but it was really ruined by the room. The food was great though would have liked to see a bit more in terms of veggie options and we were a bit surprised by cost of bread. The restaurant service was fine. The bar was great. The room was nice enough but when we arrived the radiator did not work, it was freezing. When we went to dinner the receptionist managed to turn it on but once on it was stuck on full. This made for a very hot night even with windows open. As a result of heat and noise from outside we did not manage much sleep unfortunately.

A wonderfully atmospheric hotel steeped in history and surrounded by the picturesque town. Food is fantastic. Rooms could do with some updating but still a high standard.
