We are available to give personal service at any time of the day or night, at weekends and Bank Holidays. Once we have been notified of a death, with the exception of registration and liaison with the Coroner's Office, everything can be left safely in our care. An estimate will be given at the end of the visit.

We aim to assist you with all areas of what to do in the event of the death of a loved one. Here we guide you through who to contact in the first instance, what happens once you have contacted ourselves and the legal requirements, such as dealing with the Registrar.
Here at Eddie Dorman Funeral Directors we can offer a comprehensive service on arranging your loved one's funeral, and advise you on all other areas such as organising a wake and accepting donations in memory.Registration in most cases should take place prior to the funeral, and within 5 days of death occurring.

When Death Occurs

The first steps - If the death is at home you should contact the family doctor - we cannot transfer your loved one until a doctor has certified death. In many cases, the certificate will need to be collected from the surgery. If the death is in a hospital or residential home, those in charge will contact a doctor, who will normally certify that a death has taken place and issue a death certificate.
