John & Mary Mallatratt established Peace Funerals in 1996 after growing frustrated with the limited options and care provided by the funeral companies who had taken care of their loved ones. Peace Funerals has now grown to be a team of a dozen permanent staff committed to meeting your needs. The company won the national award for best funeral directors in the UK, being nominated for the choice and support provided to families.
Direct Cremation

We provide a well-planned, well-run direct cremation service that can take place at either a local, or less expensive out-of-area, crematorium. There are a whole variety of reasons why someone might choose to have no funeral ceremony, or at least, no ceremony in a church or crematorium chapel. Sometimes it is the express wish of the person who has passed away that no-one should attend their funeral.

Our simple cremation service is a basic package that provides you with support for all the essential components of a simple but personal funeral. If you are looking to arrange a funeral with the minimum of fuss, this may be the package for you. The package includes a quality veneered coffin, and the option of washing, dressing, and viewing (during normal working hours).
Natural Burial

An easily adaptable package that includes burial in a natural burial ground of your choosing. If you want your passing, or that of a loved one, to bring some benefit to the environment, then natural burial is a great choice. Natural burial grounds have a much less manicured appearance than traditional cemeteries as they are managed to encourage wildlife.
Traditional Burial

An easily adaptable package that includes burial in a traditional cemetery, or a churchyard. We often help families arrange funerals at any one of the 16 cemeteries run by Sheffield City Council. And we also regularly assist with burials at other cemeteries run by local councils nearby, such as that at Eckington.
