The estate features three granite cottages and a restored period house, each meticulously equipped to ensure a relaxing stay. Self-Catering Cottages

Our self-catering cottages and period house sleep 4-6 guests, offering spacious, centrally heated accommodations with modern amenities. Each property features unique character, private parking, and access to shared gardens. Ideal for families and groups seeking a comfortable base in Cornwall.

Alpaca Treks

Guided alpaca treks take place every Wednesday afternoon, allowing guests to interact with our herd of 9 alpacas. The walk lasts approximately 30 minutes at a leisurely pace, followed by feeding sessions. No prior experience is required, and children must be accompanied by adults.

Eco-Friendly Stays

We prioritise sustainability through energy-efficient practices, recycling initiatives, and supporting local businesses. Our Green Tourism Gold Award recognises our commitment to environmental stewardship, including electric vehicle charging points and habitat preservation for local wildlife.

Alpaca Yarn Sales

Hand-spun alpaca yarn is available in natural shades, produced from our herd's fleece. The yarn is undyed, retaining its organic hues, and sold in 100g skeins. Perfect for knitting or crocheting soft, durable items, with unique variations in each batch.

Fleece Sales

Raw alpaca fleeces are sold for spinning or felting, available in white, cream, light fawn, fawn, and brown. Each fleece weighs approximately 1kg of usable material. Ideal for crafters seeking natural fibres, with prices including postage and packaging.

Questions

How do I book a cottage?

Check availability online, complete our enquiry form, and return the signed booking form with a deposit via bank transfer or card payment.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are welcome in the Granary, Long Barn, and Hayloft cottages during February, March, and April at no extra charge.

What is included in the rental?

Properties are fully equipped with central heating, kitchenware, bedding, and towels. Free parking and access to shared gardens and playbarn are provided.

Can I visit the alpacas?

Yes! Guests can join free alpaca treks on Wednesdays or visit the herd anytime to feed them carrots and apples.

Is the property accessible for disabled guests?

The Long Barn cottage is wheelchair-accessible. Contact us for specific requirements to ensure your stay is comfortable.

Ian and Liz are always so welcoming. Accommodation well maintained and scrupulously clean. A welcome cream tea, milk, tea bags and eggs supplied. Can thoroughly recommend.

Owners are friendly and unintrusive. Plenty of places to roam. We stayed in the Hayloft. We arrived to find a cream tea waiting for us and some fresh flowers on the table. There was also a carton of eggs on the side and some milk in the fridge. Despite the age of the building, it is well presented/furnished and adequately equipped. Clear instructions were provided for arrival and departure etc. Each property appears to have its own wireless router, seemingly on a double NAT setup - works as well as you could expect. The farm isn't on a main road, so expect to have to navigate cornish country lanes

Spent a week in the Long Barn at Tregathenan house and cottages, Quiet location in the glorious contryside, but also very close to Cornish spectacular coastline and quaint coastal villages. Amazing hosts Liz and Ian, full of recomendations of places to visit and sights to see.
Sparkly clean accomodation with the added bonus of flowers, eggs and milk on arrival. Highly recommend a stay here (but please do not book the week we will be revisiting). Many Thanks for a great week.

Just returned from a lovely week's break at Tregathenan. Rarely does a marketing slogan ring true, but whoever thought of "Away from it all in the middle of it all" were spot on. Highly recommended.
