Following on from the latest government announcement we would like to inform our patients our policy re face coverings remains unchanged. All patients attending the practice will need to wear a face covering. This is to protect our most vulnerable, our staff and you. Until we have further guidance from the chief dental officer our standard operating procedures during your visit will also remain unchanged.

Clifton Down Dental Practice has the expertise and modern facilities to be able to cater for all your dental needs. You will always receive a warm welcome, whether you wish to improve the appearance of your teeth, have anxiety issues, or just wish to maintain healthy teeth and gums. All our surgeries are modern and air conditioned to ensure your comfort.

We carry out our dentistry in a relaxed environment and ensure all the treatment options including risks and benefits have been discussed before embarking on any treatment. We have a philosophy of minimally "invasive" dentistry but maximum predictability. We aspire to treat every patient with the same dedication to quality that we would wish for ourselves.

Dental Implants
Report
Dental implants can be used to replace one or more teeth, for instance if you have lost a tooth in a sporting accident. They can be an alternative to a removable denture, or bridgework. Some people find removable dentures uncomfortable, particularly for eating and speaking.

Conventional bridgework often involves cutting the teeth either side of the missing tooth, while dental implants can provide a fixed tooth without involving the neighbouring teeth.Implants can also help if you have uncomfortable or wobbly dentures. There are various methods of using the implants to secure dentures, using clasps or bars to fix the denture to the implant.
Sedation
Report
Here at Clifton Down Dental Practice, we have lots of experience in treating nervous patients and use various techniques to help reduce anxiety including intravenous sedation. Intravenous sedation involves administering a drug which makes you feel very relaxed and not fully aware of what is going on around you; however you will still be able to communicate with the dentist.
Appointments
Report
If you would like to make an appointment please call into the practice, or telephone 0117 9744867. When you arrange an initial appointment at the practice we will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire regarding your general health. A full examination of your teeth, gums and mouth will be carried out and usually x-rays will be taken.
