Riverside Counselling Services
We're here to listen to you, to give you the time and space to talk through your problems in a confidential and non-judgemental way. We are a charity providing affordable counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people from the age of 12. You can contact us directly to arrange an initial appointment to discuss your needs and to consider if counselling and our service is right for you.

RCS was founded in 1989 to provide access to affordable counselling for all those in the community, regardless of background or circumstances. We recognise that discrimination operates consciously and unconsciously in our society, which means some people have greater access to opportunities than others.

About Us

How to arrange counselling
Report
We are unable to offer counselling to clients who are living overseas whether temporarily or permanently. You will be contacted by a member of the Riverside team and offered an initial consultation which usually takes about an hour. To secure this consultation payment of 50 is required to cover the cost of your initial registration and consultation fee.
Cpd
Report
Riverside's highly regarded and stimulating CPD Programme aims to offer Saturday workshops that are open to therapists from all backgrounds. For those who are qualified or still in training, or even for those who just have an interest in counselling and psychotherapy. Workshops are delivered by leading clinicians across a range of therapeutic specialisms, and sessions may be used as proof of CPD towards re-accreditation.
Groups
Report
Participating in a therapy group can be extremely beneficial especially if you are having difficulties in your relationships with others, lack confidence, cannot express yourself, get into conflict, repeat similar unhelpful patterns of behaviour with others, dislike groups, but would rather feel more comfortable in them.
Young People
Report
John will then contact the young person directly to offer them a 20 minute appointment time. Riverside can offer a confidential space for 20 minutes on the telephone for young people aged 12-17 years old to talk about anything that might be on your mind. The drop in service is offered for up to 3 separate sessions and our Counsellor John is available on a Wednesday at 5.30pm-7.00pm.
