The Waggon at Hale is an independent family-run traditional country pub situated on Capstone Road in Chatham. We are here to offer you a warm and friendly welcome whether you are looking for somewhere to have a good old pint of real ale, a glass of wine, or looking to dine on our freshly prepared food.
We also have a large beer garden where your children can play in safety in the children's play area or enjoy our small animal farm which includes pigs, goats, chickens, and rabbits as well as sage the pub dog. I'm a very hands-on landlady, you are most likely to find me cooking up a storm in the kitchen. On the occasions I venture front of house to serve on the bar, I do love a friendly chat with my customers. I come from a family of publicans, and have worked in many aspects of the hospitality industry for over 25 years!

We also have a range of tasty cocktails available by the glass - we even have Espresso Martini and Passion Fruit Martini on tap! Our gin range is constantly evolving, we'll be shocked if you can't find a favourite amongst our varied selection! In addition, we have a wide range of popular lagers, beers, and ciders both draft and bottled, plus up to 3 real ales on tap.

Whether it is a birthday, anniversary, christening, baby shower or a wake then look no further. We can cater for events for up to 100 people. We have a wide range of standard buffets to suit everyone's taste and budget, but if you are looking for something in particular, please do feel free to discuss your requirements with us.
The Garden

We have a large garden, complete with a children's play area and even a small selection of animals! You are likely to meet Hugo, Custard & Cream the goats; Pudding, Star, Hammy, Clemmy the pigs; plus a selection of ducks, rabbits, and chickens. You can buy animal feed for 1 a bag. As a family-friendly establishment, we do ask our guests to please keep tops on in the garden, and be respectful to those around them.
