Services
Rug Cleaning
Our Persian Wash process involves water immersion, stain treatment, and controlled drying to remove dust and revitalise fibres. This method extends rug lifespan by reducing knot friction and restoring softness. Ideal for Persian, Oriental, and wool/silk rugs, excluding animal-hide variants.
Bespoke Rug Design
Create tailored rugs using existing designs or original patterns. We collaborate with skilled artisans to produce hand-knotted pieces in specified colours and sizes, up to five metres wide. A 50% deposit initiates production, with options for international standard colour matching.
Fringe Repair
Reinforce rug foundations by repairing frayed warp threads. We expose fresh threads and trim damaged ends for a secure finish. This prevents structural deterioration and maintains aesthetic integrity, particularly for antique or high-traffic rugs.
Selvedge Repair
Replace worn selvedge cords to protect rug edges from unraveling. Using durable materials, we re-pipe long sides to prevent central damage, ensuring longevity for hand-knotted and antique pieces.
Antique Restoration
Specialist reconstruction of damaged sections using matching materials, including antique wool. Services range from minor fixes to full restoration, preserving historical value while ensuring structural stability for Persian, Turkish, and tribal rugs.

This was my first experience with The Rug Shop. I had 2 very dirty rugs which needed cleaning. The team picked up the rugs and 2 weeks later returned them. The colours were very bright and they looked so different. We are very pleased with the cleaning service provided. I'd definitely use them again.

Great selection of fine rugs. Knowledgable and patient service. Willingness to allow us to view our rug in our home before buying was also very helpful in making sure we made the right decision. Will shop again.

The Rug Shop cleaned a very large Axminster rug for us and we were very pleased. On returning it they commented on a smaller rug and explained it could be cleaned and repaired, including binding the edges and repairing the ends. This they have done and the rug looks fantastic. We are very happy with the work done. They were very helpful and efficient. Thoroughly recommend them.
