We have a strong depth of experience and qualification at Abbotswood from the Nursery Manager who holds a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Years and who is also new to motherhood, enabling her to understand how our parents may be feeling when they first come to see our setting.

Here, at Abbotswood Day Nursery, we are aware that keeping our children and staff hydrated will aid them to perform at their very best throughout the day. Our unique relationship with AquAid has also given our Nursery the opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves, because with each purchase an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust.

Central to the property, the smells of a great kitchen emanate throughout feeding the senses and often begging the question of what might be for lunch today! Our experienced Cook operates a four weekly rotational and seasonal menu. We follow guidelines and ideas from The Children's Food Trust, ensuring low sugar and salt recipes to produce a nutritionally balanced diet for your child.

When your child starts at the nursery the staff will have an in-depth conversation with you about your child's routine. In the baby room we very much follow the children's home routine in regard to sleeps, bottles, needs and interest, but we do have a general. Breakfast is accessible to the children from 8.00 until 8.45 they can choose from a range of cereals, toast, bagels and crumpets.

Freedom is one of the most important skills in life, this is a skill we can not teach. Freedom allows children to create their own activities, solve their own problems, make friends, manage emotions and interact with their peers.
We have a main toddler room where the children have access to a construction area, maths corner, a role play area that is changed weekly for the children to grow their imagination and a cosy den to read stories and have some quiet time.The toddler room has a separate arts and crafts room where the children can get messy and explore their creative side.

Our Preschool are in our Adventure marquee at the moment with the Adventure Lodge on its way. We aim to take your child on a learning adventure proving experiences that make play and learning fun and exciting, fostering a love to learn. We want to provide opportunities for children to learn about assessing and experiencing risk, challenge ideas and realise their potential.
