What to do when someone dies

It is perfectly normal to be unsure of what to do following the loss of a loved one, family member or close friend. That's why we are here to support you through the process and guide you through the various steps that are involved following a bereavement. You will need to contact the deceased's own G.P (or the Doctors on duty) who will certify that death has taken place and if he or she is able, issue a death certificate.

He entered the funeral profession at the age of 15 as a carpenter and Joiner in Crewe, Cheshire and progressed to becoming a Funeral Director. In 1947 he became Assistant Manager for the Nuneaton & Atherstone Co-Operative society where he earned a wonderful reputation for serving the bereaved within the local community.
