Since our change of ownership in January 2023, we have revitalised the pub while maintaining its authentic character.Our restaurant focuses on hearty pub food prepared with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, catering to diverse dietary needs. We welcome dogs in our bar and snug areas, ensuring both guests and their companions feel at home. The pub's proximity to multiple wedding venues within a 10-mile radius, including Ellingham Hall and Doxford Barns, makes it a popular choice for visitors attending special events. While we no longer offer breakfast from October 2024, we provide an exclusive 20% discount at Carnaby's Cafe for our guests. Our five en-suite bedrooms provide comfortable accommodation above the pub, with amenities including television, tea/coffee facilities, and hair dryers. Rooms vary from twin to double/kingsize configurations, with some offering additional space for extra beds. Check-in from 2pm, check-out by 10am, with optional early/late arrangements subject to availability. The property maintains strict cancellation policies with free cancellation up to 14 days prior to arrival.
Pub Food
Daily-changing menus feature homemade dishes using locally sourced seasonal produce. We cater to vegetarians and accommodate special dietary requirements with advance notice. Service runs Tuesday-Friday 5pm-8:30pm, Saturday 12pm-2pm & 5pm-8:30pm, and Sunday 12pm-3pm. The bar remains open until 11pm daily except Mondays when we are closed.
Thai Night
Our weekly Thai Night on Tuesdays offers authentic Thai cuisine prepared by Chef Fon. The menu includes traditional dishes with vegetarian options available. This special event runs from 5pm-8:30pm, providing guests with an opportunity to experience international flavours in a traditional pub setting while enjoying the surrounding Northumberland countryside.
Burger Night
Wednesday Burger Nights feature premium burgers paired with drinks for 18, alongside select main menu options. We went for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago after many recommendations. The service was great but the food was disappointing. The beef was v chewy and the veg were def heated up.
