Mayfield Nursery provides a warm, nurturing yet stimulating environment for children from three months up to five years. Established in 1993, we've been at our current site within the grounds of Springfield University Hospital since 2007, on the borders of Tooting and Earlsfield. The nursery provides childcare for NHS Trust staff as well as the local community and has an excellent track record in safety with the highest standards in hygiene.
Mayfield is split into the baby centre, toddler centre and preschool centre, where each centre contains two sleep rooms branching off the main play area. The baby centre also has its own milk kitchen and dedicated eating area equipped with tables and chairs accessible to the babies. Our purpose built nursery has bright spacious rooms with high ceilings so your child's happiness knows no bounds!

Ethos & Vision
Report
The Mayfield Nursery's ethos is a unique, child-centered philosophy with democratic ethos inspired by A.S. Neill's Summerhill school. We believe all children are innately good and unique, with individual needs and ways of learning which are recognised, appreciated and met. In turn, children are confident, caring, valued, independent, motivated and respected.
Staff & Learning
Report
Mayfield follows the government's Early Years Foundation Stage to prepare children for school and beyond. We believe that play-based activity provides the best foundation for learning and focus on activities such as arts and crafts, building and design, cooking and group games. Children are also taken on local exploratory trips, including the library and Tooting fire station, as well as offered other trips out such, as Deen City Farm.

Report
Classroom activities are carefully planned by the teachers according to the key areas of learning outlined by EYFS. Millar Ark Farm paid Mayfield nursery a visit and the children had an opportunity to pet and feed the animals in the comfort of their own garden. Mayfield's second annual sports day was an enjoyable occasion for everyone involved despite the rickety weather.
