I was never a student in Leeds but I lived in a number of properties run by different agents in this area over a 12 year period. I can say quite honestly that Avtar are absolutely the worst of them. They are one of the biggest agents in Leeds 6 but don't let that fool you into thinking they behave professionally. Our tenancy was a nightmare. They treated us as if we were mere intruders into their property. They let themselves in whenever they felt like it and sneered when we asked them not to; they stored garbage and work equipment for other properties in our hallway without asking us; they refused

Avtar are a great and trustworthy agency, would definitely recommend. Very affordable and good value, staff are very responsive. Sanda from Avtar was especially helpful and very professional, she was quick to respond to any issues or maintenance work that was needed and I could always trust she would get things done in a timely manner and to a high standard. :)

Ok, so there are pros and cons - like the majority of letting companies.
Pros: I can't agree with other reviews here regarding communication. I have always found staff very helpful and responsive. The maintenance team especially are very nice and respond quickly. If it is something they can not do themselves they will get in a specialist tradesperson (electrician/ heating engineer/ etc.). Which also was very quick.
Cons: the quality of properties is not fantastic. There were decorating, cleanliness and maintenance issues in every single bedroom of our property (7). Including shared bathrooms

Been with avtar for a year and got another contract again for another year as they have been excellent . Very understanding towards any situation you have . One of the agents called Sanda has been very helpful and very professional. Highly recommend Avtar as I have zero problems with them so far . More student property agencies need to have this standard .

Do not rent from this company. The staff are very rude. I was also lied to by one of the agents telling me that the amount I pay for rent would cover all bills this hasn't happened. I have emailed countless times about the problems with my water pressure to which they have told me there is nothing they can do about it. One staff member tried arguing their point claiming "they've had this discussion before on previous occasions" complete lie. When I moved in my hot was going from extreme temperatures of really hot and really cold in a matter of seconds. The water pressure is piss poor, literally
