After many years creating and serving our tasty vegetarian & vegan food from the Veggie Red Lion in Gt Bricett, we moved to the former Bucks Head at Thwaite.
There are sofas and open fires for cold Winter evenings and a lovely enclosed beer garden featuring a covered pergola with outside heaters for the warm spring and summer months. Our menu offers a wide range of homemade vegetarian & vegan food and daily specials, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients where possible.

Some 10 years ago we started as The Veggie Red Lion at Great Bricett, then in 2017 we moved to The Walnut Tree at Thwaite. We had been searching for our own premises for a number of years, so were delighted when the opportunity to buy the Old Buck's Head arose.
We wanted somewhere close enough that our regulars could still visit, for the existing team to stay together and where the business could be allowed to grow, free from increasing rents and beer-ties.The move to the Walnut Tree was the end result of fantastic support over the years creating the demand for a bigger space to cook more vegetarian and vegan food.
