Composite Bearings
We manufacture self-lubricating composite bearings for demanding applications. Our materials eliminate metal-to-metal contact while maintaining structural integrity under high loads. Components operate effectively in wet, corrosive, or high-temperature environments without maintenance. Marine-grade bearings meet Lloyd's Register type approval standards for critical ship systems.
Thrust Washers
Our thrust washers provide low-friction axial load solutions across industries. The composite construction prevents galling in rotating equipment while maintaining dimensional stability. Available in multiple grades for water, oil, or dry-running applications. Commonly used in hydroelectric turbines and heavy machinery.
Wear Pads
Custom wear pads deliver exceptional abrasion resistance for sliding surfaces. The materials maintain low coefficients of friction without external lubrication. Custom Machined Parts
We produce complex composite components to exact specifications using CNC machining. Capable of handling tube diameters up to 2.5 meters and sheet sizes up to 5x1.2 meters. Components maintain tight tolerances for critical applications in aerospace, energy, and specialist manufacturing sectors.
Marine Components

What composite materials do you manufacture?
We produce four primary grades: T100 standard range, T200 high-temperature, T400 fire-retardant, and T600 chemical-resistant composites. Each incorporates solid lubricants like graphite or PTFE.
Can your components operate without lubrication?
Yes, our materials are inherently self-lubricating through dispersed solid lubricants. This eliminates maintenance requirements while maintaining performance in dry-running applications.
Do you supply to marine industries?
Yes, we're Lloyd's Register type-approved for marine components. Our T100MP grade meets maritime requirements for rudder bearings and propulsion systems with same-day global delivery options.

Worked at Tufcot for over 2 years now and can honestly say I’ve never thought of leaving. The staff I work with are all lovely and so are management. The company look after their staff, from paid for trips out, free sandwich days, fun days to win extra holidays, early finishes or just the fact they listen to your concerns and worries. I couldn’t ask for a better place to work. Looking forward to progressing in the company.

Worked as a technical intern at Tufcot for 4 months over a university summer and then part time, whilst undertaking a masters at Sheffield University. Couldn't speak highly enough of the company. Friendly and welcoming staff with a real family atmosphere throughout. The company has grown substantially in the time I've been there and it is quite clear it will continue to do so in the coming years. Sad to leave.
