Staff are very friendly and the whole atmosphere here is very pleasant but its real asset is the food which was amazing. One of the nicest and most reasonably priced meals Ive had for some time. Highly recommend it for a meal if youre local. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had to stay at Cumbria on 3 occasions on our way to Scotland and back in August and September. We chose this Hotel as the service we received was excellent especially from Dave Green, the hotel was clean, the bedding was very fresh, not to mention the dinner and breakfast which were both of high quality. The cost of our stay was very competitive compared to those in Carlisle. We would certainly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Although going through refurbishment it was still a great place to stay. Staff were excellent friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was superb. If in that area would stay there again without hesitation.

Nice hotel, but probably seen slightly better days. Saying that food was OK, with amazing sticky toffee pud. Just a perfectly nice hotel nothing more.

Very comfortable room, thought was grateful for the fan as it was a very warm few days. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food fantastic, can't praise it enough. Also plentiful parking at the rear of the hotel.

This lovely traditional hotel has a real luxury feel, with beautiful public areas, very clean generous sized rooms and a brilliant location which is a short picturesque walk from Carlisle's historic town city centre. We were very impressed. Would have said 5 stars if we hadn't been disturbed by noisy people in the adjacent room as the dividing wall had no soundproofing.
