We are a small animal practice dedicated to providing first class care to clients' pets. Our staff of five vets together with our veterinary nurses, are always happy to advise you on your pets' needs. Abercorn's main branch is located in Portobello, whilst we also have branches at Raeburn Place Stockbridge, and Gilmerton.

Meet the Team
Report
Victor Bates has worked in the practice from 1988. From 2008 to 2016 he ran the practice along with his wife. Victor has 3 dogs - "Penny" a 2yr Manchester Terrier who's mother was abandoned when heavily pregnant, "Georgie" a year old Bolognese, and finally "Holly" a four month old Maltipoo. He also has two cats - "Twix" and "Snickers".
Our History

Abercorn Vets is a long-established practice with its main branch in Portobello, Edinburgh. It also has surgeries in Raeburn Place, Stockbridge and Gilmerton. It joined the VetPartners group in 2016 having being previously owned by Victor and Seema Bates who ran Abercorn from 2008 until last year. Victor is still with the practice supporting the Abercorn team as Clinical Director.

Abercorn vets is a founder member of "e-vets" emergency out of hours service. This service is run on behalf of 10 veterinary practices within the Edinburgh area and is situated at 171 Mayfield Rd, Edinburgh EH9 3AZ. E-vets is staffed at all times by a veterinary surgeon and a fully qualified veterinary nurse.
