Eco-Friendly Farm Stays in Brecon Beacons
Aberhyddnant Farm Cottages is a 200-acre family-run organic farm nestled in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Established in 1983, our farm has evolved from a neglected plot into a thriving hub of sustainable agriculture and hospitality. We prioritise self-sufficiency, producing our own feed, meat, eggs, and vegetables while harnessing renewable energy through micro-hydro, solar, and biomass systems. Our two holiday cottages and glamping facilities offer visitors an immersive experience in nature, with opportunities to engage with farm animals, enjoy scenic walks, and recharge electric vehicles using our green energy. The Matthews family, spanning three generations, personally manages every aspect of the farm and guest experience, ensuring authenticity and a deep connection to the land.

We are committed to preserving the local environment while providing comfortable, eco-conscious accommodations. Our guests benefit from family expertise in organic farming, a passion for conservation, and decades of hospitality experience. With a focus on transparency and sustainability, we invite visitors to participate in daily farm activities, from collecting fresh eggs to exploring the surrounding national park. Our approach combines traditional farming methods with modern eco-innovations, creating a unique destination for those seeking tranquillity and a closer relationship with nature.

The cottages are a wonderful escape from a hectic world, perfect to just relax and drink in nature. The owners are really friendly and have put so much thought into equipping the cottage.

To be honest I'd rather not leave a rating at all but I feel this issue needs to be addressed. This accommodation was recommended to me by a friend. A Google search showed a great looking location and coupled with some good reviews I was sold. Sadly, I was never able to enquire about a booking as nobody ever seems to answer the phone! I just don't understand why people decide to advertise themselves on the internet put a phone number up for all the world to see only to never bother taking any calls.

Amazing self catering cottage had everything we needed for a fab 4 day stay. My wife fell in love with the lambs which she got to feed everyday at 6pm and fetching your own eggs for breakfast from the flock was a big highlight. Highly recommended!

Well located right next to the black mountain and glacial lakes, also not far from Waterfall country. Lots of different species of sheep! We loved the house and enjoyed our stay.
