Founder of The Good Earth since 1979, Holland Kwok migrated from Hong Kong in the 1950s. Starting in restaurant work, he developed a passion that led to creating London's iconic Chinese dining destination. Now in his 80s, he continues to shape the business alongside his son Andrew.

Business Owner

We made a pretty standard crispy beef and sweet and sour chicken order and it was the best local one I've had. The beef was well fried and the sauce was light and tasty, same for the chicken. The egg fried rice was was well cooked

Tasty and authentic takeaway, probably one of the best Chinese takeaway in London! Can taste they were using good food source and justifying the price. Staff is also very friendly, patiently explaining the order may take longer than usual as they were very busy that day. Told me it will be 8pm but everything is ready by 755pm.

We hv just had our takeaway from the Wimbledon branch. I hv bn visiting your Esher branch n takeaway venue for the past 20yrs . I hv not bn to Wimbledon takeaway for a year now. Food has bn consistently of good quality. But Todays takeaway was totally substandard and was not edible. Honey glazed ribs were over fried n couldn't be chewed by even my 30yr daughter with excellent teeth. Also the sauce was overly sweet n far too thick and gooey which couldn't be washed of the plate under running water(congealed when cooled). Smokey chicken was tasteless lacking in flavour. Kung po chicken tasted like the chicken had been sat all day and meat very stringy. Satay chicken had zero flavour.Yeung Chow Fried Rice was okay

After using this takeaway several times we ordered a Chow Mein last night and horrified to receive an uncooked meal! All for the reasonable price of 11.90! You'd hope for that price it would at least have cooked noodles/meat!
