What a bitter disappointment. Id recommend the Garage Spa but dont bother with the hotel and food packages. Hotel and food are massively over rated and priced.

Back to the room, I paid 95 for a double which had 15% knocked off as I am a frequent traveler with booking.com so the room is usually 108. It was that small I felt I was in the staff quarters. They provided a hairdryer yet there was no mirror to use and they provided an ironing board with no iron. No bedside lamp or sockets by the bed and the main light had two out of its

Stayed there over Xmas and it was pretty good, just felt a bit isolated as there is nothing local. Andy the barman was great and chatted to us frequently. A credit to the establishment.

Great location, beautiful building, lovely scenery and quiet, which was surprising as it's quite close to the A66. Had lunch in the bar on Friday while driving to Scotland - a good break. Tried to the same thing on Saturday a week later and no lunches being served - curious. Will call ahead next time - but will go again if passing.
