Glen Jakes Nursery is a small privately owned family run business, managed by the owners for over 25 years, we provide quality childcare in a homely, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Glen Jakes Nursery is situated within acres of private tranquil countryside, a rare pocket of land in the heart of Stockport on Bean Leach Road, we are easily accessible from all areas.
Our rural location means children benefit from fresh air, very little traffic and idyllic views. Our dedicated staff team have vast knowledge and experience of childcare development, providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment in a home from home friendly atmosphere enabling children to learn, develop, accomplish & achieve their true potential.

We have an experienced team, who are all passionate about their jobs. Most staff are qualified to Level 3 or above, including 2 staff members who are Level 6 (Degree Level) which exceeds Ofsted's requirements.
They all take pride in what they do and enjoy working in an enabling environment which provides experiences adapted to suit each child's personal needs, with stimulating resources, rich learning opportunities and challenges which allow children to discover the unknown and explore with assistance, support and guidance.The team have a strong partnership with each other and with all our parents and guardians alike.

Glen Jakes Nursery is committed to offering children a healthy, nutritious and well balanced diet which meets each child's individual needs and requirements. Meals are freshly prepared on the premises daily by our in house chef. Our children enjoy a varied menu that rotates over a 4 week period ensuring a wide variation of dishes can be enjoyed.

Our baby room is situated within its own unit, away from the older age groups ensuring a safe, secure quiet setting, an area that is specifically designed so that the babies can access, explore and investigate using their senses such as the book area with soft books and cushions, heuristic area with various types of materials to explore, baskets with toys that make sounds, creative table for messy activities, a small home cooker, plastic food and crockery.

Children and their parent(s)/guardians will be greeted upon arrival by our team, a warm welcome, familiar faces and a cheerful smile, reassurance for a great day ahead. Our team will liase with the parent(s)/guardians, exchanging messages, gathering information and obtaining any specific requirements i.e. sleeping pattern/medication etc. to ensure your child's individual needs are met throughout the day.

We do not charge a registration fee nor do we ask for a deposit, minimal overheads enable us to provide very competitive prices. Parent(s)/guardians are encouraged to bring their child to visit our nursery prior to their start date.
Our settling in visits are free of charge and we have no "hard and fast" rule regarding the number of visits your child can attend, because we believe that both the child and the parent(s) need to feel settled prior to the initial start date.We endeavour to accommodate all our parent(s)/guardians preferred payment methods, your individual preference will be discussed upon registration.
