Just had afternoon tea with two friends. We were really looking forward to it as a pre Christmas treat and the grand exchange of Christmas presents. We were mightily disappointed ! We ate in the Pig and Whistle and it was positively Baltic, not pleasant when one is sitting down. The normally attentive service was poor and the afternoon tea was mediocre at best. The soup and turkey and cranberry sausage roll was delicious and then it went downhill. The sandwiches were OK but dry chocolate Swiss roll with a blob on top? The frangipane mince pie didnt make an appearance it was replaced with an

Today was my first visit. I was working in the area & had lunch in the pig & wistle pub. Super super friendly staff. Couldnt have been better. Had super delicious fresh moist turkey & cranberry Mayo sandwich. Was absolutely amazing. Will certainly come here again.
