The Goods Shed
We're still open in Canterbury, selling seasonal and local veg, meat and fish as well as store cupboard essentials. Our fantastic sellers, from Enzo's Bakery to Cheesemakers of Canterbury, are open - and we have added their products to our online shop! We deliver to most of east Kent CT1-21, TN23-25 and ME13 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and our Click & Collect is now only on these days, too.

Deliveries will arrive between 12pm and 6pm. I bought fresh stocks from Badlesmere, some traditionally reared pork chops, local mackerel, bread pulled straight from the oven and vegetables collected that morning from Kentish farms. I sat and had a fine sandwich from Jonnie Sandwich with a glass of wine from Clive and pondered Sunday lunch.

We welcome you to book a table inside our open, naturally-lit restaurant overlooking the market, or in our rambling garden - though please note, these bookings are not interchangeable in the event of poor weather and if you have booked outside, we may not be able to move you inside, which means your reservation will be cancelled.

Welcome to our great big collection of everything Kentish and the best of the rest, ready to be delivered from farm, to market, to your doorstep in no time. Over 20 years, we have built up our network of farmers and producers, as well as our team of artisan suppliers on the ground in the market hall.

Our local night shelter and kitchen for the homeless - Catching Lives - is opening this week. They cook from scratch every night. You can donate 5 and we'll match it, meaning we can deliver a good amount fresh veg and meat every day. A nutrient-packed, tasty mixture of soil grown sprouting seeds - selection changes with the season.

A light, fruity Chardonnay in the Burgundian style with a perfect balance of concentration, acidity and minerality. Refreshing and quaffable but with enough weight to partner fish and chicken dishes. A beautifully balanced example of white Rioja that straddles the styles of the old and the new. Vibrant citrussy Viura is blended with the more weighty Malvasia and the brief barrel maturation adds a honeyed roundness to the crisp lemony fruit.
Market
Report
The Goods Shed opened in 2002 as a daily farmers market with onsite restaurant using the local market produce. Its continuing success (your support) along with other home grown outlets has contributed to supermarkets stocking more British produce. The 'food hall' reaches further afield to stock a fuller, more complete shop.
