In January this year, at short notice, Sarah was asked to organise a trip to India, in particular, Rajasthan. It was to become a journey / holiday of a lifetime, thanks to her impeccable arrangements, and that of her sister organisation in India. She took account of all our interests and therefore did not pursue the somewhat hackneyed route which tends to be favoured by less imaginative firms. We will never forget that trip which opened
our eyes to the exceptional sights, sounds and colours of India and we cannot wait to return.

I met Sarah Mahaffy the founder and owner of Maharani when she exhibited at the National Geographic Society a few weeks ago. She has a passion for East Indian textiles and this is apparent in the ladies designer wear she sells at her shop in Fulham Road. The first thing I noticed was the quality which was far superior to the quality which ones associates with Indian made clothes. Then the stunning colours and wide choice of silk dresses,coats and scarves, not to mention the cotton padded jackets.
