Our Ballet History Timeline is an online tool that relates to the wider history of Classical ballet as a theatre art form. Set out as an easy-to-explore linear chronology, the Timeline is illustrated by archival treasures from The Royal Ballet School Special Collections, allowing these wonderful items to be seen online for the first time, and appreciated within their proper historical context.
The Royal Ballet School is one of the world's greatest centres of classical ballet training, which for generations has produced dancers and choreographers of international renown including Margot Fonteyn, Anya Linden, Kenneth MacMillan, Lynn Seymour, David Wall, Antoinette Sibley, Anthony Dowell, Marguerite Porter, Stephen Jefferies, Darcey Bussell and Jonathan Cope.
The Royal Ballet School gives talented dancers the chance to pursue a career in classical ballet, alongside their academic education. Students train full-time in classical ballet alongside their regular academic studies. Entry is by audition and hard work and dedication is required to progress through the school.
A former Royal hunting lodge, White Lodge in Richmond Park became home to The Royal Ballet School's younger students in 1955. Since then, there has been continuous development of its facilities in order to keep it at the forefront of ballet training in the UK. Most recently was an extensive 22 million, three year redevelopment, completed in 2009.
Since it started in 1926, the School has trained many of the world's finest classical dancers - including Margot Fonteyn, Kenneth MacMillan, Antoinette Sibley, Anthony Dowell, Anya Linden, Jonathan Cope and Darcey Bussell. Today, the School continues to develop the talent and technique of young dancers and choreographers from all over the world, some of whose names may, one day, be as illustrious as those before them.

Website a scam
It says clearly: apply for audition and audition dates, having a reply after 2 weeks by email no places allocated. No audition or even invitation, No explanation that is £36 you will pay only for application to submit, I paid for few online. If you do good business, please make sure to be intelligent.

Fantastic summer intensive experience. Not only for classical ballet, but also great workshops in movement and contemporary. In my observation, I was impressed by the ability of the instructor to give mindful guidance to each student. The Royal Ballet School not only trains great dancers, but obviously also trains great teachers.

It is the most complete education I ever received as student of dance. A health conscious, supportive institution with excellent, healthy training which allows students to have happy, long careers (if they wish it) and I wish I could have remained there for a longer period of time but as an international student, there were time restrictions.

A great ballet school and an encore dibble opportunity for children to express themselves in the performing arts however I very much disagree that to get in you don't just need to be an exdrordanary dancer but also your bodies is an impact on wether you get in or not as you almost need to be anorexic to peform with the "perfect body ". I believe children do not need to be inspired to be this barbie doll like figure and teens do not need this criticism which is makeing teens go home and hardly eat to live up to there standards
