Cornish Art Gallery

Cornish Art Gallery has been dedicated to capturing the essence of Cornwall's landscapes and seascapes through fine art for over 25 years. Founded by marine artist Sophi Beharrell, our studio-gallery in Falmouth has served as a creative hub for both local and international art enthusiasts. Drawing inspiration from the Newlyn School tradition, we specialise in acrylic seascapes that masterfully depict the interplay of light and water across Cornwall's rugged coastline. Our practice combines technical expertise with a deep appreciation for nature's transient beauty, offering original paintings that range from intimate miniature works to large-scale compositions. We provide bespoke commission services, allowing clients to immortalise personal connections to Cornwall's coastal vistas through tailored artwork. Our gallery showcases both contemporary and traditional techniques, including limited edition gicle prints that make our art accessible to wider audiences.

Through regular exhibitions at prestigious venues like London's Mall Galleries, we maintain strong ties with the marine art community while remaining rooted in Cornwall's creative heritage. Our tuition programmes share professional painting techniques with aspiring artists, focusing on acrylic mediums and plein air approaches. With worldwide sales and a commitment to customer collaboration throughout the commissioning process, we ensure each artwork meets exacting standards of quality and personal significance. Our physical gallery at Custom House Quay remains a focal point for art lovers, complemented by digital engagement through social media platforms. Through decades of dedicated practice and community involvement, we continue to evolve while staying true to our mission of celebrating Cornwall's natural beauty through art.
