Services
Osteopathy
Report
Osteopathy is a system of assessment and treatment that attempts to look at you and your health as a whole. Back pain is the most common presenting symptom but by no means the only thing we treat. In a consultation you will be given time to explain your health issues and how they affect your daily life.
Exercise
Report
One of the most important parts of your recovery from pain is identifying appropriate exercises for your problem. Any exercise regime should be straightforward to understand and easy to perform, it should not take up too much of your time or be too intrusive into your lifestyle. The wrong exercises or those done half heartedly are a waste of time and could slow your progress to recovery.
Understand Pain
Report
Nearly everybody feels pain at some point in their lives, back pain being one of the most common, it is the most effective warning system we have to alert us to danger or potential danger to our bodies. It is so effective that it can make us think of nothing else, it can change the way we think, move and behave.
Some facts about Back Pain
Report
If you are experiencing back pain you are in good company. Around 80% or more of the population have at least one episode in their lifetime. Unfortunately it can be very painful and can interfere with your work and social life. The good news is that the cause is only really serious in less than 1% of cases, so most likely the chances are your symptoms are not due to anything dangerous.
BPPV and The Epley Maneuver
Report
BPPV is characterised by repeated episodes of vertigo (spinning sensation) related to changes in head position. It is a common, benign condition caused by the displacement of calcium crystals in the inner ear but can be quite distressing. The Epley maneuver is used to relocate the crystals to relieve the symptoms of vertigo and can be taught as a home exercise to strengthen the treatment.
