We are a registered charity preschool, run by an elected Committee of volunteers, mostly made up of parents/carers, family members of children attending our Pre-School. The Committee work in tandem with the Pre-School staff to ensure the smooth running of our Pre-School and playgroup. We depend very much on the goodwill of parents/carers and their involvement with the Pre-School whether it be helping out occasionally or joining our committee.
Each volunteer member of the Committee will bring different skills which are invaluable to the running of our Pre-Schools. Committee members have worked, or do work, in various industries, however it is important to know that to be a committee member you do not need any direct experience to make a difference.

THE CURRICULUM - Learning and Development
Report
At St Osmund's Preschool children are at the centre of what we do and we believe that children learn best when they are interested, inquisitive and engaged, which at this age and stage of development, is best achieved through play. Play gives children the opportunity to explore their own interests, enquire, plan and take risks.
Tooth Brushing Programme
Report
To support Public Health England's recommendation, we ensure that children clean their teeth after lunch. Did you know that 27% of children will have tooth decay by the time they are 5 years old? This can so easily be prevented, and health experts are questioning why the rates of the disease in children aged three to five are so worryingly high.
Yoga At St Osmund's Preschool
Report
Yoga has many benefits for children such as helping to increase balance, coordination and core strength. It can also aid relaxation and promote a sense of achievement. Yoga is performed through a story as well as playing yoga games. This helps children to trust, have more confidence and self-esteem as well as problem solving and working in partners or as a team.
