Head's Welcome

We are always happy to help with any queries if you contact the school. I hope that our website gives you an insight to some of the exciting activities that take place in our school.
Ethos
Report
The Meadows aims to be an inclusive school where the well-being and education of our children is our primary concern. We work to achieve the highest possible standards in work and behaviour, with honesty and integrity - only your best is good enough. We actively seek positive professional relationships with parents, carers and other stakeholders in the best interests of all our children.
EYFS Curriculum
Report
Reception children follow a programme designed to help them achieve what are known as the 'Early Learning Goals'. These are targets that most children are expected to achieve by the time they leave the reception class and will provide a firm foundation for National Curriculum work in Year 1.

We believe that children learn best through hands on practical experiences both inside the classroom and in an outdoor learning environment and by a balance of child initiated and adult led learning, therefore, all areas of the curriculum are delivered in this way as much as possible. Both in small and large groups children will be encouraged to listen attentively and talk about their own experiences.
Maths
Report
At The Meadows Primary School, we believe that everyone is capable of learning maths. We have been on our mastery journey for approximately six years now and strive to equip the children with the skills of Fluency, Problem Solving and Reasoning. These skills will benefit the children both now as well as in their life beyond school.
English
Report
We believe that English is at the heart of everything we do. Skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening are taught across the whole curriculum. We actively encourage reading for pleasure as we believe it is a core part of every child's educational entitlement, whatever their background or attainment, because we know that extensive reading and exposure to a wide range of texts make a huge contribution to a child's educational achievement.
