West Oak Joinery Ltd. was established 30 years ago and is based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. We have grown to a multi-facility joinery, manufacturing high quality products to commercial and private customers throughout the U.K. We have the expertise and resources to provide a full joinery service to all our customers.
Our factory is fully equipped with a mixture of traditional and modern machinery and together with our highly skilled and motivated team we are able to provide practical solutions and create beautiful luxury products. From initial design concept to complete installation we work closely with our customers to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget. We co-ordinate relevant documentation including drawings for approval by the client, variations to project costs from the original quotation and schedules of works for production.
Joinery

Our team of highly skilled joiners piece together the components to form more complex items. Some wood joints employ fasteners, bindings or adhesives, while others use only wood elements. The characteristics of wooden joints - strength, flexibility, toughness, appearance, derive from the properties of the materials involved and the purpose of the joint.
Finishing
Report
In our finishing department we refine and protect the surfaces of the products. Finishing is the final step of the manufacturing process that gives wood surfaces desirable characteristics, including enhanced appearance and increased resistance to moisture and other environmental agents. Finishing can also make wood easier to clean and keep it sanitized, sealing pores that can be breeding grounds for bacteria.

We are able to offer structural or green oak. Green oak is raw, cut straight from the tree and is wet, therefore it 'moves' over time causing cracks. Structural oak is dried for a number of years, therefore contains much less moisture and doesn't cause cracks in the same way, therefore what you see is pretty much what you get.
