How do I book a vehicle with Alton Vehicle Hire?
Book online via our website or by phone. Complete the E-Signature process and pay at least 48 hours before collection.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment must be made online at least 48 hours before vehicle collection. We do not accept cash or card payments on-site.
Can I collect or return a vehicle outside opening hours?
Vehicle collection and returns must occur during our stated opening hours. We cannot accommodate after-hours arrangements.
What are the driver requirements?
Drivers must hold a full licence for 2+ years. Age restrictions apply, with higher excess charges for those aged 21–24.
Do you offer delivery or collection services?
No, vehicles must be collected and returned to our Four Marks site. We do not provide delivery or collection options.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
Bookings not paid 48 hours in advance may be terminated. Contact us directly for cancellation inquiries and policy details.

Excellent value high spec vechiles straightforward hiring and pick up and drop off. Very helpful staff we had a mishap with a wing mirror and they couldn't have been nicer about it

Very accommodating as needed a SWB Van for the day and were able to squeeze us in last minute. Van was perfectly fine. Would have left 5 stars but they charged me for 24 excess miles (1.92) despite insisting I bring the car back within 22 hours (the hire charge was for 24 hours).

Van was like new, drove perfectly, and the price is the best around! Booked on the same day and the whole booking process was smooth and easy :) Staff were very friendly and Rachel and Emma were especially helpful and went above and beyond to return some property back to me that I had dropped in the van :D

Van (with tail lift) hired for house move. After a few hours and with van half loaded rear tyre was flat. Advised to call Mercedes breakdown services who were exceptionally quick to respond. A screw was found embedded in the tyre and by the amount of thick debris around the screwhead, would suggest it had been there a while. Breakdown engineer checked tyre pressures and found that wrong pressures had been put in the vehicle, with pressures for the front tyres put on the back and back pressure on the front. With a house move load on the back and travelling distance, concluded a very dangerous situation

Very easy and efficient process - van was brilliant and at a very good price. Having a key drop service made the rental very flexible. Furthermore, the staff were very helpful with any queries. I would definitely use again and would most certainly recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff on phone. Van left ready due to coronavirus so didn't go in office. Everything went smoothly though. Great prices, would recommend and will definitely use again.
