Honestly one of the best meals we've ever eaten. The duck starter and the pheasant main melted in the mouth and the tastes and textures were divine. We were made to feel part of the family and so welcome. Absolutely cracking evening and the landlords should be so proud of what they have achieved. All the staff are excellent and was the highlight to our holiday.

Great place to have a drink and within walking distance of the quarry for a great walk. The staff are polite and helpful as well. Haven't tried the restaurant but seemed really nice and the tables were well prepared.

Staying here overnight. The evening meal was really well cooked and presented. I had a vegan burger then apple and rhubarb crumble and custard. Both were lovely. They very kindly served my friend and I late when we returned to eat from a long walk over from Coniston. So very grateful. The accommodation was very comfortable. David and I shared a twin bedded room. The shower late in the evening was poor however, barely a trickle and very unclear how to use it The room also lacked adequate accessible plug sockets for 2 people ( just one visible double socket)
So homely, good food and comfortable
