Ian Kenny Framing
Established since 1976, Ian Kenny Framing is a bespoke (custom) picture framer with high street premises in Larkhall and Hamilton in Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 20 miles south of Glasgow. We work for discerning customers from all over Scotland. In Larkhall, we have a fully insured, dedicated framing workshop where you are welcome to speak to the framer who will be working for you.

In Hamilton, there is always a qualified framer on hand to speak to, so you are welcome to organise your framing there if it suits better. If we are busy when you arrive, you'll be able to browse through some artwork, or help yourself to a Nespresso coffee and sit and watch a few videos from the workshop while you wait.

Framing
Report
Real, professional picture framers are hard to find - framers like us, with an expert understanding of appropriate presentation, conservation practice and the need for real works of art to stand out for themselves in a well considered and finely constructed setting.

At Ian Kenny Framing, contemporary or classic artworks, textiles or 3D artefacts of any size can be framed by professional, certified framers in a wide selection of styles, with meticulous care and attention to detail. We make frames for all kinds of people, including art galleries, local authorities, architects and property developers as well as working with interior designers, collectors, artists and photographers.
Our Work Standards
Report
The Fine Art Trade Guild specifies four acceptable levels of framing, which use different qualities of materials and framing techniques. These levels are numbered 1 to 4 with 1 being the highest standard and 4 being the minimum standard. The level used will affect the cost, and more importantly, the level of protection and conservation for the artwork, so we'll help you decide which is the correct one for your piece.
Mount Solutions
Report
Mounts and backing are important elements in the framing process. Visually, mountboards can look wonderful when carefully underplayed beside the work on display, whilst also giving emphasis ranging from fabulous to subtle when required. Mounts are also vital to protect and preserve artwork at the same time as showing it off.
