Shirly attended the Northern Framing School in Sheffield, having been taught by Pete Bingham, one of the top framers in the industry. For several years Shirly was framer for the Main Fine Art Gallery before going out on her own and establishing Otago Framers.
Lucy joined the family business in 1998, having graduated from Glasgow School of Art with First Class Honours in Fine Art (Painting & Drawing), bringing with her an innate understanding of paints, textures and materials.Taking time and care to create the ideal frame for each individual piece is hugely important to us and very much part of who we are.

Report
Very popular for work that does not need to be mounted such as artworks with hand torn edges. We are highly experienced in producing a range of hand-finishes, using a selection of paints, gesso, metal leaf and waxes. For our paint finishes we create individual colours tailored to complement tones in the artwork, using artist-grade acrylic or earth-pigment paints.
