Our founder, Bambos Georgiou, began his journey in London's West End before opening the iconic Brass Rail at Selfridges in 1966. Our signature salt beef sandwiches feature hand-carved meat cured using traditional methods perfected over three generations. The beef is slow-pickled in-house for maximum tenderness and flavour. Served on fresh bread with optional mustard, these sandwiches represent our core offering since the 1950s.
Homemade Dishes
We prepare classic Jewish deli dishes daily using recipes passed down through the Georgiou family. From matzo ball soup to knishes, each item complements our salt beef while showcasing our culinary heritage. Ingredients are carefully sourced to maintain authenticity and quality.
Takeaway Service
Both locations offer efficient takeaway service during regular operating hours. Customers can enjoy our freshly prepared sandwiches and meals at their convenience. Hatch End operates 11am-9pm daily, while Edgware serves 11am-8:30pm Tuesday-Sunday.
Dine-in Options
Our Edgware and Hatch End restaurants provide comfortable dining spaces for enjoying meals on-site. Hatch End offers lunch and dinner service Tuesday-Friday with extended hours on weekends. Edgware provides similar seating arrangements with slightly earlier evening closures.

I had a lovely tongue sandwich tonight and it was absolutely superb and amazing the best fresh meal I have ever had very kind polite smiling lovely owner too and I very strongly recommend this place as the food will not disappoint you as you just want to sit down and eat all day long non stop what a little gem.

Absolutely amazing! Every single thing I tried from this place is just astounding. Salt beef sandwich out of this world, latkes are phenomenal and the schnitzel tastes like the one your grandma used to make at home! The staff is very friendly since the second you walk in, makes it feel as cozy as home. Highly recommended!

Proper, old school salt beef on rye. We arrived a few minutes before they opened, but were seated without fuss. Service was very friendly, and the food was absolutely first class. Excellent salt beef on proper rye bread with mustard and pickles, and delicious latkes. I only wish there were more places like this.

Hubby had egg and onion, chicken livers, chopped herring and sweet and sour and New green gurkins, followed by salt beef, potatoes latkes with lemon tea ... he loved the salt beef but said the rest could have done with a bit more seasoning and was a bit tasteless. I had the best salad I've had in years and omelette, I could have eaten it twice
