Went for a quiet drink with my wife. Very disappointed to see the female manager/supervisor NOT wearing her mask around staff standing up and moving around. This is a simple rule for everyone to do their bit. Poor attitude for a manager and no respect for public health nor the thousands that have died of this terrible virus. Rest of staff were brilliant. Well situated for the train station, spacious and an amazing breakfast. Rooms are a little dated, it was necessary to move a small chest of drawers to plug in my phone and the shower gel is stored outside the shower. Friendly staff upon arrival and for breakfast

The Sunday carvery is always excellent but on this occasion there was an inordinately long wait for drinks and a couple of our party didn't get the correct drinks at the first attempt. On a side note, I thought there could have been more hand sanitiser about the place, especially at the dessert cart where serving spoons etc are handled by multiple people.

The food and service at the pentland Hotel was perfect. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and relaxing, the menu choice, price, quality and quantity is just how it should be and very delicious. We were served by the joyful Maureen who is super friendly and efficient, she made us feel very welcomed and valued, and a reason in itself to return. Thank you
