What Happens
Report
When you attend your first appointment with us, Liam Halton (our osteopath) will ask you lots of questions in order to take a full case history. You may then be asked to remove or loosen some outer clothing so that he can examine you. Please be assured you only need to remove clothing you feel comfortable removing and if it's convenient you might like to consider wearing loose clothing such as a tracksuit or shorts when you visit us.
Back Pain
Report
Back pain is very common, almost half the adult population of the UK (49%) report lower back pain for at least 24 hours at some point in the year. In most cases there is a structural reason for the problem, involving injury to one or more of the many structures in the back such as spinal joints, muscles, ligaments, discs and nerves.
Sciatica
Report

Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes compressed causing pain to extend down from the lower back into the buttocks and down the back of the thigh into the lower leg and foot. It may also be associated with tingling and pins and needles and numbness into the calf and foot.
