Golf has been played in the Northcliffe park area of Shipley since 1896 when a 9 hole course was developed. Shipley Golf Club was established and played over this course for many years until in 1921 they decided to move to a new course at Beckfoot, still their home today. A group of enterprising, visionary members decided they wished to stay at the course.
Our founder and major benefactor, Sir Norman Henry Rae MP, expounded a very clear vision that the club and course should be used by " people with limited means ". Clearly the beginnings of the "Artisan Golf Club" we enjoy today. The wonderful course which we love and play week in week out has evolved from the original 9 hole course, dating from 1896.

Northcliffe Golf Club is situated in the heart of West Yorkshire on the outskirts of Shipley, overlooking the beautiful Aire Valley. It boasts an 18-hole course set in some 100 acres of parkland, and hosts some of the most scenic and challenging holes in Yorkshire.
We have a James Braid designed layout that visitors frequently praise, not least for the quality of our greens, which are cut on a daily basis during the summer, and ironed to keep them true and fast.Because we are a Braid course we have reduced tee fee arrangements with other Braid courses across the UK.

We are privileged to be one of the finest golf courses in the area. We do currently have vacancies in most membership categories and invite any prospective golfers to apply. Whether you are new to the game or an experienced golfer, we guarantee you will receive a friendly and warm welcome from both members & staff.

The clubhouse with its welcoming bar and restaurant facilities provides a great area for both members and visitors to enjoy a quiet drink, tasty snack, bar meal or a la carte dining in the comfortable lounge or dining room. An outdoor wooden deck provides a magnificent setting overlooking the first tee, 18th green & out over the golf course.

Northcliffe is a stunning venue for weddings in the Bradford area. We are happy to host your wedding reception and can offer beautiful surroundings, excellent service and sensible prices. We can seat 100 comfortably, and can offer a whole range of catering from hot & cold buffets to Fine Dining. We have a superb veranda overlooking the Golf Course, where in the spring and summer months your guests can enjoy a drink.
