Stove Installation
HETAS-certified stove installations ensure safe, compliant wood-burning systems. We offer bespoke fireplace builds and liner fitting services, adhering to strict safety standards for domestic and commercial properties.

We safely remove bird nests and install protective guards to prevent re-entry. Our technicians address smoke leakage issues caused by blockages, restoring safe chimney functionality without property damage.
Smoke Diagnostics
Identify smoke leakage sources through advanced diagnostic testing. We resolve back-drafting issues and recommend ventilation solutions to prevent soot acid damage in unused chimneys.

Supply and installation of carbon monoxide detectors to complement chimney maintenance. These alarms provide critical early warning against dangerous gas leaks from faulty systems.
Questions
Why is regular chimney sweeping necessary?
Regular sweeping prevents dangerous chimney fires by removing soot and creosote buildup. It improves appliance efficiency and meets insurance requirements for certified documentation.
How often should chimneys be swept?
Sweeping frequency depends on fuel type: smokeless fuel (annually), wood/bituminous coal (quarterly), gas/oil (annually). We provide tailored advice during inspections.
What preparation is needed before a sweep visit?
Clear the fireplace area of ornaments and ash. Ensure appliances are unlit and cold. Secure pets and provide clear access from entrance to fireplace.
Do gas/oil flues require cleaning?
Yes, gas and oil flues need annual sweeping to identify blockages and ensure proper ventilation, even though they don't produce soot buildup.
Can I use a chimney after closing it off?
Unused chimneys should be swept and ventilated to prevent damp-related damage. Soot acid can cause structural issues if left untreated in closed systems.
Are bird guards effective?
We install purpose-designed bird guards that prevent nesting while maintaining proper chimney draft and safety standards.
