Our flagship recording service utilises a precision-acoustics live room and SSL AWS 900 console with Neve preamps. Mixing Services
The mix suite features Adam S3A monitors and a Retro 2A3 equaliser for precise sonic sculpting. We balance clarity and character to help tracks compete on radio and streaming platforms. Our approach maintains artistic integrity while optimising for commercial impact.
Mastering Services
Mastering sessions use Crane Song HEDD conversion and Bricasti M7 reverb to ensure release-ready consistency. We optimise loudness and frequency balance while preserving dynamic range. This final stage guarantees professional-grade sonic cohesion across all playback systems.

What recording equipment do you use?
We feature an SSL AWS 900 console with Neve preamps, vintage microphones like Telefunken 251s, and boutique outboard gear including Empirical Labs Distressors. Our monitoring system includes Adam S3As and Yamaha NS10s.
Can I bring my own instruments?
Yes, we encourage artists to bring personal instruments. We also provide guitar and bass amps from Fender, Marshall, and Orange, plus synths like Prophet and Moog for additional creative options.
Do you work with unsigned artists?
Absolutely. While we've collaborated with international stars, our mission focuses on nurturing local talent. We offer flexible pricing and development support for emerging artists at all career stages.
What are your studio hours?
We operate by appointment seven days a week. The control room and live spaces are available for extended sessions with engineer support typically from 10:00-22:00 daily, subject to booking availability.

Our band, Little Moscow, spent 2 days recording with Ant and Alex. Their warmth, knowledge, advice, experience and amazing technical facilities, made for a fantastic time, enjoyed by all. Given that we have been playing and recording together, in bands, for over 35 years (both professionally and for fun), we know when something, or someone,… instinctively feels right! Our manager and Planet Rock D.J., who produces the Hairy Rock Show, for Si and Dave, came up especially, during our last day of recording and was also highly impressed with the technical set-up, capabilities and experience

I’d highly recommend this studio. The whole experience was great from start to finish and Anth went above and beyond to make sure my track was exactly how I wanted it. The whole studio is relaxed and is the ideal environment for recording. I would definitely use it again 😀

Diagnosis 666 has come to Newcastle from Norway twice, with the single purpose to record at Blast. We have made two great records there (The Great Evil Spirit (released 2012) and Apparently Sane (released 2018)), much thanks to Blast. Everybody at Blast has made a great effort to host us in the best possible way. Adam Sinclair is a magnificent sound engineer. He has a great ear for arrangements, and has a steady hand on everything else.
