An Umbrella Solution allows contractors the flexibility of working through multiple agencies, while maintaining a single employer status. This can be beneficial for tax purposes as your tax-free allowance can be applied to your total weekly earnings, not your individual agency earnings.
As an Umbrella contractor, you become an employee of Generate, meaning you will be eligible for employment entitlements such as sick pay, maternity / paternity pay and a holiday pay plan.You will also be covered by Generates Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. With Generate's PAYE solution, the contractor becomes one of our employees, receiving a fixed salary as agreed with the agency on a weekly or monthly basis. PAYE is the simplest payroll solution we offer, however it is only available for contractors working through a single recruitment agency. It is therefore likely to suit those on medium to long-term assignments.

CIS or Construction Industry Scheme was established in 1999 and applies to self-employed individuals working in the construction industry. Self-employed construction workers can work through Generate's construction contracting company, allowing them to be paid under CIS rules and claim tax-deductible expenses in their year end tax return.
Collective PEO

Generate Collective (PEO) is a contractor management solution that offers Joint Employment as an extension of the Fixed PAYE Rate model. Both the agency and Generate act as the employer and share employment duties. Responsibilities of each partner are agreed in a separate framework agreement.
A typically appointed duties agreement allocates recruitment, right-to-work checks and payment rates to the agency and HR and payroll to the contractor management (Umbrella) company.Though not yet common practice in the UK, the PEO model is recognised by HMRC and is gradually increasing in popularity as an alternative to Umbrella.
