Heavy Haulage
Collett & Sons provides bespoke heavy haulage solutions for abnormal loads and oversized cargo. Our fleet includes crane vehicles with capacities from 9 to 205 tonne/metre, hydraulic lifting systems, and modular transporters. We handle complex projects requiring specialist engineering, route planning, and compliance with BS8888 standards, ensuring safe delivery of industrial equipment and infrastructure components.
Storage Warehousing
With over 55,000 square metres of secure storage across six UK depots, we offer comprehensive warehousing solutions. Our facilities include heavy lift capabilities with 110-tonne straddle carriers, calibrated weighbridges, and indoor/outdoor storage options. The Halifax depot's Mile Thorn Works provides specialist storage for out-of-gauge cargo, supporting both short-term and long-term project requirements.
Marine Agency
Our marine agency division manages vessel chartering and port operations for project cargo. We operate from strategic UK ports in Goole and Grangemouth, offering heavy lift discharge services and cargo handling for abnormal loads. The team coordinates worldwide breakbulk shipments, utilising sea, river, and canal-going vessels to transport wind turbine components and industrial equipment.
Transport Consulting
Collett's transport consultants provide route access surveys, swept path analysis, and traffic management plans. We conduct test drives simulating loaded dimensions to identify necessary route modifications, considering gradients, topography, and environmental factors. Heavy Lift
Our heavy lift services utilise hydraulic gantry systems, jacking and skidding equipment, and self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs). The team provides engineering drawings to BS8888 standards and develops method statements under CDM2015 regulations.
