The present owners, Ian and Katrin, took the business over in 1997. Since then great strides have been made in turning a largely self service launderette into a skilled service centre that offers all types of textile cleaning - for both private customers and commercial businesses. With 12 full and part time employees, the focus is on skills and quality improvements.
We aim to offer the best service possible - so continual staff training is essential and worthwhile. Stain removal, pressing techniques, technical know-how and many other areas are ongoing training subjects that staff are taught. Hand finished laundry is a speciality of ours everything from shirts and woollens to table linen, bedding, curtains and upholstery.

Service washes (wash, dry and fold) are available throughout the day and can be express processed for afternoon collection when brought in during the morning. Similarly, duvets and bedspreads can be fast tracked when urgent cleaning is needed. Hand finished Valet Services are available for shirts, trousers, woollens etc and normally take 2/3 days to process.
Launderette

Our self service launderette is equipped with the latest Electrolux high efficiency washing machines and dryers. The standard size washing machine holds 75 litres (approx 10 - 12 kilo) - suitable for most large domestic type loads. The 5 large washing machines hold 180 litres (apporx 25 kilo) and are suitable for very large king size duvets and very large washes.
Dry Cleaning

We have recently re-equipped the dry cleaning unit with a very eco friendly hydrocarbon dry cleaning machine. This is one of the most gentle of all dry cleaning methods, producing clean fresh results without the traditional hazardous odour and environmental problems. A wide range of garments are very successfully processed with eco-solv.

Tor Laundry has two full time vans, collecting and delivering laundry and dry cleaning for both private customers and businesses in the South Devon area. Please contact us for collection schedules in your area. We also have a number of agents to whom customers can take their laundry and dry cleaning.
