Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital has been providing veterinary services for Chipping Norton and the surrounding areas of Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire for over 60 years. In 1976 we were one of the first practices in the UK to be awarded the prestigious Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons RCVS 'Hospital status' (now called Tier 3).
We are proud to provide veterinary care of the highest standard for all species. Our staff are all highly motivated and well trained to provide you and your pet with a caring, efficient and highly professional service. We are a RCVS registered veterinary nurse training practice and we are affiliated with the University of Bristol Veterinary School to provide extra-mural study (EMS) experience for veterinary students.

Services
How are we different
Report
As well as providing top-flight veterinary care for dogs, cats, rabbits and the other usual pet species, we care for an unusually wide variety of species. We provide veterinary services for the game-bird industry, falconry birds, backyard poultry, zoos and exotic pets such as monkeys, parrots, reptiles, fish and invertebrates.
Our standard of care
Report
We provide up-to-date clinical facilities and aim to combine high-quality medical and surgical care with the compassion and friendliness of a local, privately-owned practice. The vets and nurses at Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital regularly attend lectures, seminars and other continuing professional development sessions to ensure that the quality of care we provide is always at the cutting edge.
Research & publications
Report
At Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital we believe that it is important to not just treat the cases we see, but to add what we learn when doing so to the veterinary knowledge base so that it can be of use to other vets and their patients. For that reason, when we see rare or unusual cases we do our best to present them at veterinary conferences or publish them as case reports in veterinary journals.
The veterinary hospital
Report
Our purpose-built veterinary hospital and boarding cattery are located on the Northern edge of Chipping Norton on the A361 Banbury Road, opposite the Aldi supermarket. Chipping Norton is on the intersection of the A361 Swindon to Banbury road and the A44 Oxford to Evesham road. The hospital has two storeys with the clinical areas all downstairs and the administration and accommodation for staff on out-of-hours duty upstairs.
Pet services
Report
As a traditional rural mixed practice we have been providing veterinary services for the common pets, farm animals and horses for decades. Yet we also have the expertise and facilities to provide veterinary care for a wide variety of other animals including game birds, camelids, falconry birds, zoo animals and exotic pets such as reptiles, cage and aviary birds, primates and small-mammal pet species.
