A 5 Star Honda rated motorcycle school offering a new level of excellence within the area. Starting in the classroom learning the basics of riding in our training area moving to the road for at least 2 hours. The CBT certificate will allow you to ride up to a 125cc with L plates, or a 50cc with L plates, depending on your age.

We proudly teach Motorcycle Training in Chester from Basic Introductory Lessons, CBT (Compulsory Basic Training), AM license, Restricted (A1/A2) Licence and DAS (Direct Access Scheme) for those wanting a full unrestricted motorcycle licence. We also offer Advanced Training courses and Back to Bike refresher courses for those getting back on their bikes after a break.

The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is the start point for ANY new rider. It is designed to ensure that everyone who wants to learn to ride on the roads receives the correct training and has the skills needed to ride safely in modern road and traffic conditions. At The Ride Academy you can be sure of our undivided attention with a maximum of two trainees per instructor for all aspects of your CBT training.
Am Licence
Report
You can ride a moped with learner plates on a provisional license after completing your CBT, but cannot carry a pillion. However, if you want you could opt for a full AM Moped Licence by taking your theory test, followed by the practical test. This will allow you to ride a moped (either scooter or motorcycle style) up to 50cc with a top speed of 45km/h (around 28mph) without L plates, and to carry a pillion.
A1 / 125cc Licence

The A1 course is designed specifically for people aged 17 or over who want to get rid of their Learner plates, or carry pillions. Training and practical tests are conducted on a 125cc, allowing you to ride a motorcycle or scooter up to 125cc (with a maximum power of 11kw). The strict definition of A1 category machines is of motorcycles or scooters up to 125cc and with a maximum power of 11 KW or 15bhp.
