Thomas Howard Burroughs first opened T.H.Burroughs Family Butchers in Swindon in 1942. Today, T.H.Burroughs Family Butchers, Delicatessen and Farmshop is run by his grandson Graham Burroughs. We have developed an excellent reputation for the best quality locally-produced meats and pride ourselves on our knowledge and traditional butchers' practices.

We offer a wide and varied selection of local meat and seasonal game. Our handmade free-range pork sausages have won numerous awards over the years and we are continually trying new and exciting styles and flavours, including our take on the traditional South African sausage, "Boerewors". We care about the produce we sell; we believe in animal husbandry, sustainability and supporting local producers.

Our approach to produce is a very simple one - we only support producers that share our values of respect for the animals they raise. We make sure that all meat is sustainably produced, is traceable and of the highest quality. Where possible, we get to know the farmers and visit them regularly, all of which ensures that our meat products are of the highest standard.
Beef

MacDuff Beef comes from a family of 13 Scottish farms who have joined together to set themselves a uniquely high standard of beef production. This ensures that MacDuff Beef has complete traceability from farm to plate. All cattle come with a passport, which states breed, parentage and the farm or farms that have looked after them.
Lamb

Our lamb is selected from 6 Farms based in the Cotswolds, and then cherry-picked at Cirencester Market. Cirencester Market is situated off the A419 Swindon to Gloucester Road on the outskirts of Cirencester, as local to us as we could get. This year, we also had a delivery of Spring lamb from MacDuff, as they never disappoint us with the quality of their beef.

Family run business Packington Free Range have a simple philosophy; what's good for the animals and the land will naturally be good for us and better for our customers. Their respect is not only reserved for their livestock, with their land being involved in environmental schemes in partnership with Natural England.
