Moorgate Nursery School & Children's Centre
My name is Gemma Hampson and I have worked at Munchkins Childcare for 13 wonderful years. I started as Play worker and worked my way up to Supervisor as well as working as HLTA in Moorgate Nursery. I then completed my BA Hons Degree in Early Years Education and achieved my Early Years Professional Status.

I am a qualified Forest School teacher and I love taking children out to the forest to experience the wonderful outdoors, climbing trees and singing around the camp fire. I have learnt so much in a small amount of time and feel blessed to lead and be a part of a strong, committed and hard-working team, to ensure the best outcomes for children in our care.

Admissions
Report
Children are eligible to access the Free Entitlement to Nursery Education (30 or 15 hours) at the beginning of the term after their third birthday. For more information and to check if you are eligible please visit the Childcare Choices Website.

We will try to offer every child who has not attended Munchkins Childcare a home visit the first week of term, then a phased admissions programme begins to admit the children gradually increasing sessions over a period of up to four weeks.Children can attend Moorgate Nursery School from the *term after their 3 birthday, when they get their Free Entitlement to Nursery Education (30 or 15 hours).
Nursery Day
Report
Nursery is organised so children have time to be involved in adult directed activities and in their own initiated activities. We involve the children in their learning and let them know why they are doing something. Children are encouraged to make decisions and solve problems, to initiate, plan, carry out and review their activities.
Pupil Premium
Report
National data and research tells that children eligible for free school meals tend to do less well, for example in 2014 45% of children eligible for free school meals achieved the expected level at the end of the early years foundation stage compared with 64% of other children. The Early Years Pupil Premium will provide us with extra funding to close this gap.
Celebrating 75 Years
Report
The rain didn't stop us from having a fabulous celebration for our wonderful Moorgate turning 75 years old! As part of the celebrations staff and children came dressed up in 1940's clothes and had a fantastic day!

As well as enjoying a picnic, we sang happy birthday with Nicola's amazing Moorgate cake, the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of West Lancashire helped us bury our time capsule, we listened to 1940s music and danced, met 'Blitzy Bear', looked at old photographs and even played some games from the past!We thanked our lovely Amanda for giving the children of Moorgate 20 years of love and care.
