The practice was established in 1976 with one general practitioner. By 1982, the practice had grown to four general practitioners with approximately 6,000 patients and moved into the purpose-built health centre we are in today. The practice currently has seven partners, one salaried GP as well as GP registrars.

Our practice population is around 10,000. We want to help you get the right medical assistance when you're ill, injured or have a long term condition. Going directly to the person with the appropriate skills is important. This can help you to a speedier recovery and makes sure all NHS services are run efficiently.

Making the most of your Practice
Report
There are many services available to help you to stay healthy. Some of these services can be accessed directly (see below), and for others you need to be registered with a GP Practice (Surgery). When you wish to consult a GP about your medical condition, you need to contact the Surgery with which you are registered to arrange to be seen.
Practice Team
Report
Margaret-Anne Smith is the Practice Manager and is responsible for the day to day running of the health centre and the management of the practice. If you have any suggestions, complaints or comments to make, please feel free in the first instance to discuss these with her. In her absence, you should contact her deputy, Alison Campbell, Office Manager.
Opening Hours
Report
The surgery is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. We are closed at weekends and on Public Holidays. Telephone Livingston 01506 414586. During the day this telephone number will connect you with a Health Centre receptionist, who will then connect you with the service you require.

In order to further improve the quality of care to our patients, the surgery closes one afternoon per month - usually a Wednesday - to participate in educational activities, staff training and practice development. The date of this is always posted on the front door at least one month in advance.
What to do when we are closed
Report
When the practice is closed, there is an out of hours' emergency medical service available at all times. This service is meant for urgent and emergency problems and should not be used to avoid the inconvenience of consulting during the day. If you need out of hours help, you should telephone 111 which is a free-phone number nationwide.
